An example of restraint giving way to catharsis. For nearly a year, this recording was considered a demo, until the band realized it had a spook to it that could not be replicated. This is one of the benefits of recording at 4am, running on scotch whiskey and homemade ketchup. This is the only song on this record that was written and considered for the band's previous release, Sleeping Operator. - Brad Barr

The speed of love returning
To my depraved heart
Like a song, it carries the memory still
You waited til the river froze
To come and find me
With your voice, speaking the words in my throat
The dream you dream of falling
Out of the blue, child
Like a stone--I think I've been dreaming it too
We were never forced to love
You would have to lose your mind
You would have to lose your mind
You would have to lose your mind
When Icarus was falling
Burning and blinded
He was born and buried along with his pride
Woke up in the bed last night
Her features were golden
And the walls, they were crowded with symbols of lust
And then, an emperor returning
Dragging his sword
From the guerre, cutting the snow on the ground
We were never forced to love
You would have to lose your mind
You would have to lose your mind
You would have to lose your mind
The Line that you were drawing
You would have to lose your mind
You would have to lose your mind

This is undoubtedly my single favorite album of all time. It feels like such a perfect culmination of all the themes and ideas Fleet Foxes has been working with since 2008. It answers many of the questions found on both Helplessness Blues and Crack-Up, and represents an incredible maturation and growth in Robin Pecknold's perspective. Their other albums are certainly masterpieces, but this, in my opinion, is their magnum opus. I doubt it will be recognized as such in its time. isaiah_stuart

I can sadly only choose between anything and dragon eyes for my favorite track, but then I realized it probably is anything. The rest of the album and its instrumental sister album are both amazing and imo her best release thus far. 9/10 angrypizza98
